Dear Snugli

Dear Snugli,
Thank you for the countless hours you have given me to get chores done around the house.  My girls love you and so do I!

Easter Bonnets

Oh how I waited and waited to wear these bonnets.  A very sweet lady made these bonnets for my girls.  I try them on my girls all the time, just to stare at their little faces in these lacy bonnets.  On Easter we finally got to wear then!  Martin and I took the girls to church and them we went to my parents house for a Easter lunch.

Our extended, extended family all met and enjoyed the beautiful weather outside.  We had a delicious lunch and enjoyed a few competitive games of cornhole.
The girls met one of their great grandmas.
And they met their Aunt Donna for the first time.

Hippity, Hoppity Easter's on its Way!

The girls were not really into their bunny hats this morning, but I still think they are precious!

Twinkle Toe

Before we took the girls to the babysitter's house for the first time, I new we needed to paint a toe nail.  It is hard for our immediate family to tell them apart and even harder for our friends.  So to help our sitter know which baby is Hadley and which is Harper, we painted one of Hadley's toenail.

Daddy Days

This week was my first time back to work since December!  It was bitter sweet.  I wanted to go back to work to see coworkers and friends but I was VERY sad to leave my girls.  Going back to work has been easier than I expected.  I love getting up and starting my day early, but at about 1:00 I am ready to be home.  Martin stayed home with the girls Monday and Tuesday so that it would be an easier transition for all of us.

When I came home today, they were downstairs in the Media room, watching the big screen together.

He took the girls to lunch, Target, and the Post Office.  He had no problem running my errands for me.
Daddy thought it would be cute to make Hadley have a mowhawk while they were out and about togther.

Pediatrician Stats

We took the girls to the pediatrician for their 2 month check-up.  They are still wee little things, but growing!
They each got 5 shots.  Hadley let out one little cry and then she was ok.  Harper screamed such a painful cry and could hardly catch her breath.  I worked hard to hold back tears.  I had 2 bottles ready to help soothe them after their shots.  It worked great, but I think I am teaching them early that pain=food....oh well.

Hadley
Weight 9lbs 2 oz (24th percentile)
Length 21.25in (26th percentile)

Harper
Weight 8 lbs 14oz (18th percentile)
Length 21.4in (25th percentile)

Yesterday, they messed up multiple outfits...and ended up in these "twins oneies." I even put purple bows on the top of their heads to match their shirts. They say "Twins are Twice the Fun" I laughed every time I looked at them, especially when I realized that the little girls on Hadley's shirt where of a different ethnicity then Harper's.

Harper does not think "Twins are Twice the Fun", when her sister is laying on her arm.

2 Months Old

The girls are 2 months old!  They are getting big and so much fun.  I feel like they are "real" babies now...if that makes any sense.

They have grown so much in 1 month!

What I want to remember about you at 2 months old:

You are still in newborn diapers, but have almost grown out of them.
Newborn clothes fit the best, but we can manage with some 0-3 months.
You both weigh about 9.5 pounds (We will know for sure tomorrow after your doctor's appointment)

I always like to "look for chunk" on your legs.  It makes you smile, and it makes me happy that you are gaining weight.

You both can focus on faces and smile.
Although Harper, you smile at us, you are much more serious than your sister.
Hadley, you grin so big your whole mouth is wide open.  Hadley you will focus on your sister's face and smile.  You try to talk to Harper, but Harper just stares at you for now.

You are both starting to make sweet noises to interact with me and your dad

You sleep in the same crib together.  You sleep from 7:30pm-7:30am with one feeding around 3am.  We will take that!
You are great eaters.  Hadley, you always want to eat.
You both nurse well.  Harper is always finished first. I work really hard to avoid a lot of spit up, but it never fails one of you spits up enough to make me change my clothes.

Because you are both sleeping so much more at night, you want to eat a lot during the day.  We have moved your bottles up to 4ounces.  Dad has mastered feeding both of you at the same time, but you always get mad when he takes both bottles out to burp you one at a time.  Maybe we can eventually learn to burp you both at the same time.
I can't wait to see what the next month brings!

What a Crew!

Martin had our ENTIRE family get together to celebrate my birthday this weekend.  He made a reservation at Cinco, a retro Mexican restaurant, for 12 adults and 5 high chairs!  This is such a change for us; our family has grown so quickly.  We sat at a huge table in their solarium.  It was wonderful weather and a lot of fun!
You can imagine the chaotic fun it was for all of the grandparents.
Harper was smiling at her cousin McKenzie.

McKenzie LOVED helping me open presents.  Ripping the tissue paper was hilarious to her.

Cinco is located in a cute village with shops and play areas.  We enjoyed a walk around the village after lunch.

What a beautiful little girl!
I have to give all of the credit for the beautiful photography to my sister, Teri.

All Smiles

Our girls are starting to give us smiles.  When we can get them to focus on our face, they will grin.  It has been so much fun to interact with them in this way.  It definitely makes taking pictures a lot more fun..and challenging.

I love when they lock arms.
